Do you have a book that you’ve read or listened to more than once? I do, and it’s Jen Sincero’s You Are a Badass at Making Money. Every time I get in my own head when I’m launching something (like I am right now) and I need the reminder that I can dream big and achieve my goals, I fire up the audiobook version of this gem. It’s great for when you’re driving around or walking the treadmill. It packs a punch without being too heavy or feeling like you missed something, but it’s not fluff either. If you need help shifting your mindset, I highly recommend this oldie but goodie. | ![]() |

Today’s Featured Goaldone Girl…Samantha Gold
Sam is the Founder & CEO of Motette, an elevated children’s pajama brand that blends comfort, style, and a touch of magic for bedtime. As a mom to Blair and Wes, Samantha was inspired to create Motette after noticing a gap in the market for stylish, cozy sleepwear that kids actually love. With super-soft bamboo fabrics and thoughtful designs, she set out to make pajamas so comfy, you'd wish they came in adult sizes!
Originally from Chicago, Samantha’s life took an exciting turn six months ago when her husband’s job relocated their family to sunny Sydney, Australia. Now, she’s taking on the challenge of launching a U.S.-based brand from the other side of the world.
A former tech and fashion executive turned full-time mompreneur, Samantha balances running her growing brand with life as a mom of two. When she’s not chasing after her little ones, she enjoys connecting with other female entrepreneurs, indulging her love for interior design, and exploring the outdoors—or occasionally unwinding with her favorite reality TV shows.
When I asked her to share about a recent goal that she achieved that she’s proud of she said, “Launching my brand, Motette, from the ground up has been a huge milestone for me. It’s been an incredible challenge balancing motherhood, relocating to Sydney, and building a U.S.-based business from the other side of the world, but seeing my vision come to life has been so rewarding. I'm especially proud of creating a collection that reflects my passion for thoughtful design and comfort while connecting with other moms who share similar values.”
Of course, I wanted to know how she did it and she was happy to share, “The single biggest factor in achieving this goal was staying deeply connected to my “why.” Knowing that I was creating something inspired by my own journey as a mom—solving a real need for stylish, safe, and comfortable kids’ clothing—kept me motivated through every challenge. That purpose, paired with support from my family and my background in tech and fashion, gave me the clarity and drive to bring Motette to life.”
We all know success is not without its roadblocks. Sam was pretty open about about them and how she navigated the challenges. “One of the biggest obstacles I faced was balancing the demands of motherhood with launching a business, especially after relocating to Sydney. Navigating time zones, managing a U.S.-based brand remotely, and adjusting to life in a new country were all challenging. I overcame these hurdles by staying organized, leaning into my support system, and reminding myself to take things one step at a time. I also prioritized building a strong team and being flexible when plans needed adjusting. Most importantly, I stayed connected to my purpose—creating something meaningful for other moms—which kept me focused and motivated.”
We all know that once Goaldone Girls achieve a goal, they set a new one, when I asked Sam the goal she’s currently working on, she said,
“Right now, I’m focused on launching Motette’s first collection this spring. My goal is to establish a strong brand presence on platforms like Instagram and connect with other moms and families who resonate with our mission.
I'm leaning into my amazing Instagram community for ideas and feedback. From polls on print choices to launch strategies, hearing their insights has been invaluable and reminds me why I started this journey in the first place. It’s so exciting to build something with their input that truly reflects what parents and little ones want and need!”

Sam also shared her favorite tools for accomplishing her goals. Along with a Goaldone Girl favorite, Canva, she also loves CapCut. She says, “CapCut is perfect for creating engaging Instagram content—it makes editing videos, adding text, and syncing music so simple, helping me create polished Reels that connect with my audience. Canva is my go-to for designing beautiful graphics and visuals that align with Motette’s branding. Together, they’ve been essential for bringing my creative ideas to life and building a strong online presence!”
Sam’s book recommendation is “Atomic Habits” by James Clear. She shares, “It’s made a huge impact on my ability to hit my goals. It’s all about the power of small, consistent changes and how they compound over time to create big results. The practical strategies for building good habits (and breaking bad ones) have been incredibly helpful in staying focused and productive, especially while balancing the demands of motherhood and launching a business. It’s a book I keep coming back to for inspiration and actionable advice.” |
I’d love Goaldone Girs readers to know that their input truly matters—whether it’s voting on print choices, sharing feedback, or simply supporting the brand, they can have a real impact on shaping the products and making Motette something special for families everywhere. Thank you so much for sharing my story! 💕
